Job Description


Two exciting postdoctoral fellowship opportunities are available at the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) within the School of Pharmacy's Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) Department. Fellowships within PHSR provide multidisciplinary, advanced training to health services researchers and clinicians and prepare fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical or insurance industries, and consulting. Training includes, but is not limited to, mentored research, grant-writing, and teaching experiences. Coursework may include CEnR and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR).
The CEnR fellow will engage in qualitative analysis and patient-engaged research activities funded by AHRQ, NIH, PCORI, other federal and state of Maryland government agencies, foundations, and private corporations. Fellows will work with UMB researchers and community partners as part of the portfolio of projects supported by The PATIENTS Program (www.patients.umaryland.edu). The PATIENTS Program has eleven staff and is involved in over 20 active projects. Successful candidates will possess.

Job Requirements


Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills are a must.
For CEnR fellows, strong qualitative skills, an ability to work across diverse community setting, and experience with community-based participatory research among underserved populations are desired. For PEPI/PE fellows, strong pharmacoepidemiology or pharmacoeconomics research training and experience with analysis of large administrative databases are desired. A PhD in a health-related discipline is desired, but clinicians with qualitative research training and/or experience are also encouraged to apply. Strong quantitative and/or qualitative skills are a plus.
