Norms for a Science Policy Career

Working in science policy is different compared to academic research in several ways, whether it refers to the rapid pace, being a generalist and becoming more collaborative, and being willing to learn about new topics.
The first is a fast pace, and being able to keep track of federal policy on a daily basis if that’s the space you work in. This requires being organized and on top of things, which you learn once you’ve been in the field for a while.
