Columnist: Patricia Silveyra
Dr. Silveyra is a full time Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She is one of the leaders of the Pulmonary, Immunology and Physiology lab, where she studies the molecular mechanisms of pediatric and adult inflammatory lung disease. She is the recipient of numerous research grants and awards, and she has published extensively. Dr. Silveyra is from Argentina, where she earned her Masters and PhD degrees in Biochemistry before moving to the United States as a postdoctoral fellow and later becoming a faculty member.
