Columnist: Cheryl L Baird, PhD
Cheryl L Baird, PhD works as a scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Richland Washington. Her primary research area is in protein engineering to develop robust affinity reagents (e.g., antibodies) for application in sensors and diagnostics. She also is actively involved in evaluating commercial and next generation technologies for applications in biodetection. Prior to PNNL, Cheryl was a lead scientist at SRU Biosystems, a small biosensor development company in Woburn Massacheusetts. Cheryl earned her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Utah and was a post-doctoral scientist with David Myszka at the Center for Biomolecular Interaction Analysis.
