    It is always a huge change to transition into an assistant professor position. In this article, I am going to give you my advice on how to prepare for this transition. To prepare well, I think it is good to start thinking about it when you choose to do a Ph.D. Although it seems far away, and you may not even know if you want to become a professor, there are some things you can do to start preparing. If, later on, you decide not to pursue an academic career, you are still going to gain experience that can be helpful in applying to another job.
