    If you are about to defend your thesis or are thinking about writing your thesis, this is a question you should be asking yourself. You are probably thinking incredulously, “Well, of course I am doing a postdoc! Aren’t I SUPPOSED too?” The answer to that is really “yes AND no.” According to the American Society for Cell Biology Committee for Postdocs and Students, approximately 70% of PhD students will do a postdoc, and approximately 30% of those people will go on to do at least one other postdoc.
