    Now, when I say “board”, I am referring to chalk, wipe, or SMART.   So why are we teaching?  Utilizing your graduate degree for a teaching career is an appealing option for many bench scientists.  In graduate school, I knew that teaching was a plausible career choice for me.  The more teaching experience I had under my belt, the more I realized how much I loved to teach, and that it was something I was actually good at doing.   I was in a very different place in my life at the end of graduate school as compared to the beginning.  My priorities had changed quite drastically, as I am sure is the case with many of you.  I found that teaching can provide the work-life balance that is right for you.  While not guaranteed, in ...
